Call for applications | Games

Applications can be submitted for funding to attend individually selected events, as well as funding to attend a prospection trip to the Reboot Develop Blue in Dubrovnik, Croatia. In total, a maximum of two events can be applied for. Priorities must be specified if multiple events are named.

Applications are welcome from game developers and representatives of game development studios / teams.

Note: Before submitting your application, we ask you to read through the call for applications and FAQs to avoid any misunderstandings and to clarify any questions you may have.

GAMES: Funding for the participation in international fairs, festivals and a prospection trip.

Applicant is the potential contracting party.

The data on gender in our online forms is collected for statistical purposes in accordance with the funding guidelines of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM).

The following information and documents must be submitted for the Games sector:

  • name, place and date of the event(s) to be attended
    You may specify a maximum of two events per application. If including more than one event, please list in order of priority (most important first).
  • ONE letter of motivation for attending the event(s), maximum of 3,000 characters including spaces
    Why is attending this/these event(s) important to the studio/team?
    What are the goals and expectations for attending?
    Who do you want to meet at this trade fair: publishers, investors, end users?
    What are the benefits of attending the event(s) in terms of your visibility on the international market?

  • a budget that takes into account, among other things, the (foreign) per diem and accommodation allowances of the target country pursuant to the Federal Travel Expenses Act, among other things. Examples of travel budget calculations can be found here.

Maximum funding

Individual travel per event

  • 1,200.00 euros (for events in Germany and Europe (geographical))
  • 2,200.00 euros (outside Europe (geographical))

Prospection trip to the Reboot Develop Blue 2025

  • 1,200.00 euros (per person (max. 2))

Early start of project

I hereby apply for an additional one-off expense allowance of 400.00 euros.
Only possible for the prospection trip: I hereby apply for a one-off expense allowance of 400.00 euros for the second person travelling with me.


The following documents have to be submitted:

  • brief introduction of the studio/team (maximum of 500 characters including spaces)
    What fascinates and moves you as a studio/team? What drives you?
    What sets the studio/team apart? What is special about it
  • brief introduction of the game (maximum of 500 characters including spaces)
    Description of the story and gameplay
  • elevator pitch (pitch deck if applicable) of the game
  • game trailer (alternatively a gameplay video) (approximately 0–10 minutes)
  • proof of your current place of business in Germany
    Current tax assessment notice (2022 or later) or business license with confirmed validity or current IHK membership confirmation
  • Proof of copyright of the game
    A PDF document signed by the applicant confirming that the applicant holds the copyright for the submitted game.

Data Protection
When submitting an application, you provide us with personal data (if applicable, name, date of birth, telephone number, e-mail address, bank details, identity card number, sex, address, photographs of you, etc.) which will be processed by us or third parties in accordance with Article 6 b GDPR and which is required for processing of and the decision regarding your application and, if your application is approved, for the implementation of the funding process.
